Driving Change for a Sustainable World

SustainEra began with a belief that climate action must be shaped by the realities of those living on the frontlines of climate change. Rooted in Bangladesh, one of the world’s most climate-vulnerable countries, communities are experiencing climate impacts in ways that went far beyond what conventional assessments could capture, while their experiences, knowledge and priorities are not always meaningfully reflected in the policies, investments and solutions designed for them. SustainEra was created to help bridge that gap. We bring together research, policy, practice and community knowledge to understand climate challenges differently and translate that understanding into meaningful action. Our work gives particular attention to issues that are often overlooked, from Loss and Damage to locally led adaptation, gender equality and social inclusion, climate finance, displacement and community resilience. Our roots are local, but our outlook is global. We believe that knowledge and solutions emerging from Bangladesh and the wider Global South have an important role in shaping the future of climate action. Today, SustainEra is growing as a space for research, innovation, collaboration and knowledge-to-action, working alongside communities, civil society, practitioners, researchers and institutions to develop solutions that are evidence-based, locally grounded and socially just. Because for us, a sustainable future is not only about adapting to a changing climate. It is about building an era where resilience comes with equity, climate action comes with justice, and no one is left behind.
